One way to do so is by ensuring you are the only person who receives your W-2. (If you received a paycheck from Georgia Tech in 2017, you must have a W-2 to report your wages to the IRS.)\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EW-2s become available in January, either electronically or by mail. Georgia Tech Human Resources mails W-2s to the address shown on your last paystub. \u003Cstrong\u003EIf that address is not correct and you have not elected to receive your W-2 electronically, your identity may be at risk.\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERemember, W-2s contain your most sensitive information \u0026mdash; including your social security number.
