They had the opportunity\u0026nbsp;to talk\u0026nbsp;with both faculty and students about the program\u0026nbsp;and the opportunities for studying\u0026nbsp;and interning abroad.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDuring the afternoon event, Jacqueline\u0026nbsp;Royster, dean of the Ivan Allen College, and Anna Westerstahl Stenport, chair of the School of Modern Languages, welcomed\u0026nbsp;guests, speakers, and students.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EA letter from German General Consul Detlev R\u0026uuml;nger to Georgia Tech students was read and members of the German faculty shared information about the German program and elaborated on the importance of studying the language and going abroad. The event also featured a\u0026nbsp;panel consisting of Patrick Wallace (Georgia\u0026nbsp;Department of Education), Marshall Sanders (The Halle Foundation), Barry Spurlock (The Gail and Barry Spurlock Foundation,) and Michael G\u0026ouml;ttert (Auslandsschulwesen), spoke about their experiences with German in their professional and personal lives.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGerman Day 2017 highlighted the importance of German to the Georgia Tech community.
