Todd Michney will deliver the annual George Knepper lecture on American history, sponsored by the history departments of the University of Akron and Kent State at 5:30 p.m. in Simmons Hall on the UA campus. Michney is an assistant professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology who focuses on urban history, digital history, African-American history, and the history of race and ethnicity. He’ll speak about homeownership among African-Americans in Cleveland and Atlanta over the past century. It’s free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served afterward.
