He\u0026nbsp;will bring a few examples and also discuss how these ventures get funded.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAbout the Speaker\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWith over 20 years in impact investing, emerging markets, venture capital, technology startups\u0026nbsp;and business valuations, Brian is a seasoned venture capital impact investor. Beginning in 2005,\u0026nbsp;he focused on sourcing, underwriting, monitoring, managing and exiting from early stage venture\u0026nbsp;investments at Gray Ghost Ventures, helping to more than double investor capital while driving\u0026nbsp;significant social impact. Brian has also been a thought-leader and founding member of much of\u0026nbsp;the Greater Atlanta region\u0026rsquo;s impact ecosystem. His involvement with Gray Ghost Ventures\u0026nbsp;portfolio companies includes: CellBazaar (exited to Telenor), d.Light, United Villages (exited to\u0026nbsp;Oxigen), ParaLife, RentBureau (exited to Experian), SourceTrace, and many more. Brian began his\u0026nbsp;career as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Turkmenistan in the mid \u0026lsquo;90s, where he\u0026nbsp;installed the first publicly-available ISP, allowing access to information beyond the closed\u0026nbsp;confines of the state-controlled media. Later, Brian was Deputy Director for CARE\u0026#39;s southern\u0026nbsp;Balkans office. Prior to Gray Ghost Ventures, he was Benevolink\u0026rsquo;s first non-founder employee,\u0026nbsp;involved in all aspects of product, technology, and business development. Brian is a Kauffman\u0026nbsp;Fellow and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Georgia Honors Program, where he\u0026nbsp;earned a BA summa cum laude. Take the elevators closest to Starbucks in Clough to the 4th floor. Exit the elevators and take an immediate left, entering into the library as you keep walking. Once you\u0026#39;ve swiped your ID, you\u0026#39;ll see a set of stairs to your left almost immediately.
