{"59718":{"#nid":"59718","#data":{"type":"event","title":"WIIS Lecture and Luncheon","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EWomen In International Security, the Sam Nunn Security Program, and the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy present:\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0022Challenges in Critical Infrastructure Protection\u0022\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIn recent years, following a number of attacks and foiled plots against critical Infrastructures, there has been a rising awareness of the value that transportation, energy, water, telecommunications, banking, emergency services, and other key systems hold for terrorists as potential targets.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe defining characteristic of these infrastructures is that they are geographically widespread and integral to a smoothly functioning society. For this reason, disruption of these systems holds the potential to create catastrophic economic and societal consequences.
