  <title><![CDATA[Lawrence Receives Georgia Tech Postdoctoral Research Symposium Award]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Britain Fellow&nbsp;<a href="https://wcprogram.lmc.gatech.edu/people/person/c7c71718-632b-5802-9621-0ebfa741fa2f">Halcyon Lawrence</a>&nbsp;in Georgia Institute of Technology&nbsp;School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, was recognized for her presentation &ldquo;Potty Mouths:&nbsp;Examining Toxic Language in Online Gaming Environments&rdquo; at the 4th Annual Georgia Tech Postdoctoral Research Symposium held on Sept. 21, 2017.</p>

<p>The Georgia Tech Postdoctoral Research Symposium awards are the&nbsp;only&nbsp;campus wide source of travel funds available to postdocs. Postdocs&nbsp;from across the Colleges of Computing, Engineering, Sciences, and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts were selected to give a talk and presentation on their research and its significance. Halcyon was awarded best presentation and received a $1,500 travel award sponsored by the Dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.&nbsp;</p>
