{"596057":{"#nid":"596057","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Leadership for Social Good Study Abroad Program","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EInfo Session for Eastern Europe Study Abroad: Leadership for Social Good will be\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003ESeptember 15,\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E11-12 p.m\u003C\/strong\u003E.\u0026nbsp;All who RSVP will get a guaranteed lunch.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe current Summer Abroad Program in Central and Eastern Europe offers interested students the opportunity to gain insight into global civil society, to\u0026nbsp;learn about the challenges of creating and leading effective and sustainable social enterprises, and to make a positive impact by working closely with a non-profit organization in Budapest, Hungary.\u0026nbsp;This program introduces students to the concept of \u0026ldquo;sustainable communities\u0026rdquo; and is affiliated with\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/serve-learn-sustain.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EServe-Learn-Sustain\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe program takes students to Prague, Czech Republic, Vienna (new location), Austria, and Budapest, Hungary.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDuring the nine-week program (eight weeks abroad), students earn nine management credits through a combination of lectures, case studies, readings, guest speakers, and direct engagement with a non-profit organization. \u0026nbsp;The goal is for students to better understand the realities of social entrepreneurship and the leadership that it takes to develop strong civil societies.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Central and Eastern Europe experience will develop students\u0026rsquo; abilities to make a positive contribution to organizations dedicated to creating social value and addressing the needs of society.
