Electrical engineering maintained its fourth place position from last year and ranked second among public universities, while computer engineering remained strong at sixth place, maintaining the same position as last year, and ranked third among public universities. 

The College of Engineering rankings also held steady and tied for fourth with Caltech. All of the programs offered by the College placed among the top 6 of their respective disciplines, a unique distinction for the overall engineering program. This year, the College had two programs ranked as number one in the nation. Industrial and systems engineering ranked number one for the 23rd consecutive year, and biomedical engineering ranked first in its discipline for the second time in a row.
