{"595574":{"#nid":"595574","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Sung Receives the European Policy for Intellectual Property (EPIP) Best Paper Award","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EElie Sung, a doctorate student in the Public Policy program at Georgia Tech who is scheduled to graduate in 2019, recently won the \u0026ldquo;Best Paper for an Emerging Scholar\u0026rdquo; Award from EPIP, the European Policy for\u0026nbsp;Intellectual Property organization.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEPIP is the leading European platform for the analysis and discussion of intellectual property systems and intangible assets, according to its web site. It is an international, independent, interdisciplinary, non-profit association of researchers that grew out of a network financed by the European Commission in 2003 - 2005.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThis award is quite an accomplishment for Sung, as the competition was fierce. Candidates had to commit to attend the conference and had to present their paper to a panel of reviewers. Only two young scholars were granted the Best Student Paper Award.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEarlier this year, Sung received the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/edit.hg.gatech.edu\/node\/592949\u0022\u003EBest Presentation Award\u003C\/a\u003E at the Technology Management and Policy Graduate Consortium at Stony Brook University on Long Island\u0026rsquo;s North Shore.
