594323 external_news 1502468686 1502471818 A recent Georgia Tech-led study on wildfires and air pollution remains timely, thanks to uncontrolled fires that are still plaguing parts of the U.S. The study showed that wildfires release three times more of fine-particle pollution that previously thought. That's the kind of pollution that can exacerbate health problems like asthma or pulmonary disease. Greg Huey, professor and chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, is one of the authors of the study.
