Despite its scary name, the presence of vinyl cyanide in Titan's atmosphere actually makes the moon a potential candidate for harboring life. Britney Schmidt, assistant professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, is quoted because of her research into Jupiter's moon Europa, the best candidate so far for supporting life elsewhere in the solar system.
