Anderson Foundation NextGen Fund and the Scheller College of Business Dean\u0026rsquo;s Innovation Fund, Kim Cobb and Beril Toktay collaborated to expand Cobb\u0026rsquo;s successful \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.cos.gatech.edu\/hg\/item\/549091\u0022\u003ECarbon Reduction Challenge class\u003C\/a\u003E to enable students participating in an internship or co-op to plan and implement a carbon reduction project with their employers.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIndividual students or\u0026nbsp;a\u0026nbsp;team took the initiative to identify and execute a plan that reduces their employer\u0026rsquo;s carbon emissions, most often saving their employer money, over the course of their internship. Project examples range from creating employee challenges to reduce their personal carbon emissions,\u0026nbsp;to changes in building lighting schedules, to more capital-intensive projects such as HVAC modifications.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe winners of the Carbon Reduction Challenge will be decided based on i) the amount of carbon emissions avoided (whether actual or potential)\u0026nbsp;and ii) the level of awareness fostered through the project.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe winning team(s) will be announced at the conclusion of the Finalist Poster Expo.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERefreshments will be available.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ECarbon Reduction Challenge class enable sstudents participating in an internship or co-op to plan and implement a carbon reduction project with their employers.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","format":"limited_html"}],"field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"Teams present plans to reduces businesses\u0027 carbon emissions and save money."}],"uid":"30678","created_gmt":"2017-08-01 16:34:16","changed_gmt":"2017-08-01 16:34:16","author":"A.
