{"591175":{"#nid":"591175","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Digital Media Master\u0027s Student Reaches Final Round of Toyota\u0027s Next Generation Mobility Challenge","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ESally Xia, a master\u0026rsquo;s student in the Digital Media program in the Ivan Allen College School of Literature, Media, and Communication, advanced to the final round of the Toyota Next Generation Mobility Challenge as part of a team of Georgia Tech students.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETheir entry in the competition is a project titled \u0026ldquo;Para Pickup,\u0026rdquo; a \u0026ldquo;service that gives individuals with disabilities safe, affordable, and flexible ways to get home, improving on current options that can be inflexible and slow.\u0026rdquo; Xia\u0026rsquo;s teammates are industrial design graduate students Riley Keen and Pranav Nair, as well as undergraduate mechanical engineering major Kris Weng.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn April, Toyota and the nonprofit Next Impact invited the \u0026ldquo;Para Pickup\u0026rdquo; team to Plano, Texas for a final judging round where innovation experts helped them refine their concept pitch.
