Working with Nunn School Associate Professor\u0026nbsp;Margaret E Kosal\u0026nbsp;and post-doc, Dr. Jon Huang, the two APS students investigated how emerging and next-generation technologies are playing a role in national defense and in a\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Article\/Article\/991434\/deputy-secretary-third-offset-strategy-bolsters-americas-military-deterrence\/\u0022\u003EThird Offset Strategy\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;for deterrence. One student explored nanotechnology and next-generation body armor, and the other looked at biotechnology and synthetic genomics. All of the Spring interns presented the findings of their research last Friday at the Marcus Nanotechnology Building.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe internship program is organized by GT\u0026rsquo;s\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.ien.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EInstitute for Electronics and Nanotechnology\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;(IEN) and\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/senic.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ESoutheastern Nanotechnology Infrastructure Corridor\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;(SENIC) in conjunction with APS\u0026rsquo;\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.atlantapublicschools.us\/Page\/44677\u0022\u003EGifted Internship Program\u003C\/a\u003E.
