{"590547":{"#nid":"590547","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Students Pitch Social Entreneurship Projects at Ideas to Serve","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe Georgia Tech community is invited to grab a free King of Pops and check out the latest student social innovation initiatives at the annual \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.scheller.gatech.edu\/centers-initiatives\/ile\/i2s\/index.html\u0022\u003EIdeas to Serve Competition\u003C\/a\u003E on Wednesday, April 19, at 6 p.m. at the Scheller College of Business Atrium.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETeams\u0026nbsp;will present their projects, aimed at creating a better world, on a poster, pitch their ideas, and answer questions from judges and the audience. Prizes in two categories (Ideas and Advanced) will be awarded, and audience members will be able to vote for their favorite project.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESome of the teams to look out for this year in the Ideas Track include cond\u0026uuml;it, an app that connects students with volunteer organizations and allows school administration to easily verify and track service hours, and AlcoBand, an affordable and intuitive alcohol self-detecting wristband for college students to prevent excess drinking. In the Advanced Track, Lunula Health created a noninvasive method to measure hemoglobin levels using smartphone images of the patient\u0026rsquo;s fingernail beds.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to prize money, a significant benefit the competition provides is a half-day workshop and mentor matching.
