This award is awarded biennially by the SIAM Activity Group on Discrete Mathematics (SIAG\/DM) to an early career researcher or early career researchers for outstanding research, as determined by the prize committee. Awards are given for research in an area of discrete mathematics, based on a publication by the candidate(s) in a peer-reviewed journal published in the three calendar years prior to the year of the award.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELutz is being recognized for his contribution to the study of random graph processes and phase transitions.
