  <body><![CDATA[<p>This event is held in conjunction with the 50th <a href="http://www.cc.gatech.edu/focs2009" target="_blank"> Annual IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science</a> and the 20th Anniversary of the <a href="http://www.aco.gatech.edu" target="_blank">Algorithms, Combinatorics, &amp; Optimization Program</a> at Georgia Tech. <a href="http://www.aco.gatech.edu/conference/focs-aco" target="_blank">Theory Day</a> will host 4 distinguished speakers:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Richard Karp, What Makes an Algorithm Great?</li>
	<li>Mihalis Yannakakis, Computational Aspects of Equilibria</li>
	<li>Noga Alon, Disjoint paths, isoperimetric problems, and graph eigenvalues</li>
	<li>Manuel Blum, Can (Theoretical Computer) Science come to grips with Consciousness?</li>
</ul>

<p>There is no fee to attend but <a href="http://www.aco.gatech.edu/conference/focs-aco/register.php" target="_blank">registration</a> is required.</p>
