To that end, this work proposes control theoretic approaches for balancing power and performance in order to achieve better performance at lower energy expense.\u0026nbsp; There are three major aspects of this work. The first contribution of this work is effective and efficient power and performance management in a single voltage island in a processor. The second contribution of this work is a proposal to maximize power efficiency in a many-core processor that is composed of several voltage islands.
