O\u0026rsquo;Day is Partner and head of the Environmental Law\u0026nbsp;and Sustainability Practices at Smith, Gambrell \u0026amp; Russell, LLP.\u0026nbsp;The Environmental Practice Group handles all aspects of\u0026nbsp;traditional environmental legal issues. SGR\u0026rsquo;s Sustainability\u0026nbsp;Practice Group provides focused legal advice and representation\u0026nbsp;to companies and entities regarding sustainability initiatives,\u0026nbsp;sustainable businesses and business practices, renewable energy,\u0026nbsp;business issues, planning and litigation. Mr. O\u0026rsquo;Day has\u0026nbsp;received numerous awards and spoken at seminars for his work\u0026nbsp;concerning sustainability, environmental liability and compliance\u0026nbsp;and risk management. Mr. O\u0026rsquo;Day is now serving on the Green\u0026nbsp;Chamber of the South Foundation Board.\u0026nbsp;Mr. O\u0026rsquo;Day studied Civil Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and earned a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in\u0026nbsp;Political Science from Furman University in 1976. He received his\u0026nbsp;J.D. degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1979.
