In fact, because he received the Campus Services Student Spotlight award, he\u0026rsquo;s known as exceptional.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDavid Knobbe, assistant director, Campus Recreation Center\/Outdoor Recreation, said it like this:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Jerett is innovative, works tirelessly to improve his community, is committed to real-world problem solving, and is conscientious, personable, and inspirational. He is an exceptional leader and team member who has distinguished himself as committed to service and professionalism.\u0026nbsp;His work ethic is unparalleled; he sees possibilities in situations where many miss them. We get many students coming through our doors, and there are quite a few that when they depart we feel a true sense of loss. Victoria is absolutely near the top of that list. She brings more than just the output of work. She brings passion, energy, encouragement, diversity, a sense of community, and so much more. The supervisor position stresses commitment, passion, resilience, and leadership, and Victoria has demonstrated all of these and more\u0026hellip;better than most of those I\u0026rsquo;ve worked with.\u0026nbsp;So much so that this past fall, when we had an open fulltime coordinator position for the semester, Victoria stepped into the role as a student, and we didn\u0026rsquo;t miss a beat. With more than 400 intramural teams, 40+ sports clubs, and some camp days throughout the fall semester, Victoria performed as if she had been in the position for years.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Victoria has also been a CRC Camp Counselor for the CRC Summer Camp during the past two summers. While not the only variable to consider, it says something (as a parent) when you can entrust the wellbeing of your child with someone. For the past year, Paula has been part of the Tech Rec team and Student Center team as the Student Marketing Manager for Tech Rec.\u0026nbsp; Her marketing designs focus on ensuring the \u0026ldquo;Tech Rec Brand\u0026rdquo; is present in each image; she understands the need to create marketing that encompasses the branding of the space. When I started the summer of 2017, I was a Conference Assistant. On a day to day basis, I would work the front desk at our main location on West Campus and our secondary summer office at North Avenue. I would also drive people back and forth across campus, assist with clientele check-ins, and help the set-up crew when needed. After the summer, I stayed with Conference Services my sophomore year and continued my role working the front desk at our main office.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EI decided to stay with Conference Services and worked there summer 2018 as well. This time,\u0026nbsp;I am in\u0026nbsp;the role of Conference Services Office Manager. This job was a catch-all job. In the beginning of the summer, it pertained more to training the new 33 staff members and making sure that everything was ready for them to use to assist conference guest.Then, it transitioned over to helping Mari, my boss, make the weekly schedule, sorting through maintenance requests, and coordinating with the other managers and professional staff to get different projects done. My job ranged from large tasks like helping coordinate the move of more than 20 conference guests at 9 pm when a building flooded to hosting a movie night for the summer staff, and printing out daily restaurant reports once a week.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECurrently, I hold more of a Conference assistant role again. I come in four days a week, three of the four being to work the front desk and the fourth to assist on whatever\u0026#39;s needed. I was promoted to Building Supervisor Spring 2015 and then to Facility Manager Fall 2016.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat are your duties in this position?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EAs Facility Manager, I help the Facility Coordinator, Nyssa Owen, and my co-manager, Scott Higgins, lead the 100 student staff members of Facilities at the CRC. I also conduct hiring, training, and staff meetings as well as host CPR and First Aid training courses. I have met most of my closest friends here, and they have helped me grow both professionally and personally. I have always been obsessed with yachts since I was little and always said I wanted to be a yacht designer. Although Tech doesn\u0026rsquo;t have a program for Naval Architecture, I have secured two internships in the field, and now I\u0026rsquo;m on my way to my dream job.
