  <title><![CDATA[AT&T Intellectual Property Patent Development Internship]]></title>

<p><strong>Internship Description</strong></p>

<p>AT&amp;T Intellectual Property is responsible for the protection, valuation, and monetization of all intellectual property within AT&amp;T. The 2017 internship provides a qualified candidate the opportunity to assist AT&amp;T patent&nbsp;developers with mining&nbsp;AT&amp;T&rsquo;s vast portfolio of patents and aligning identified patents with various products and services in support of patent monetization efforts. The qualified candidate will also work with inventors to identify patentable inventions.</p>

<p><strong>Skills Gained Through Internship</strong></p>

<p>The selected intern will, among other things, gain or enhance his/her familiarity with patents by evaluating inventions in view of the requirements for patentability and by analyzing patents to determine their strength and applicability to products and services.&nbsp; In so doing, the intern will also gain knowledge about technology industry developments and trends related to products and services. The intern will further gain or enhance further his/her familiarity with various technology areas, including wired and wireless networks, software-defined networks, video, and others.</p>

<p><strong>Eligibility Requirements</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>current, active Georgia Tech undergraduate when applying</li>
	<li>be a current, active Georgia Tech undergraduate&nbsp;during the entire duration&nbsp;of the internship</li>
	<li>major in engineering (electrical, computer or mechanical) or computer science preferred</li>
	<li>2.85 or higher cumulative G.P.A.&nbsp;when applying&nbsp;</li>
	<li>be in current good academic standing</li>
	<li>U.S. citizen or permanent resident</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Schedule, Audit Credit Hours, and Pay Rate</strong></p>

<p><em>The internship is two semesters in length, and each semester has a different time commitment.&nbsp; Applicants are expected to be available for&nbsp;both&nbsp;summer and fall terms.</em></p>

<p><strong>Summer 2017&nbsp;(May 15 &ndash; August 18)</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>40 hours/week, Monday &ndash; Friday only</li>
	<li>The intern and his/her supervisor(s) at AT&amp;T will determine the specific schedule.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Fall 2017&nbsp;(August 21 &ndash; December 8, 2017)</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>20 &ndash; 29 hours/week, Monday &ndash; Friday</li>
	<li>The number of hours for the fall internship is dependent upon the intern&rsquo;s availability.</li>
	<li>The intern and his/her supervisor(s) at AT&amp;T will determine the specific schedule.</li>
	<li>20 - 29 hours per week internship qualifies for six audit credit hours</li>
</ul>

<p>Hourly rate per semester: $18 &ndash; 23.00&nbsp; (Overtime is not provided.)&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Financial support for the intern is provided by AT&amp;T Intellectual Property.&nbsp;</p>
