  <title><![CDATA[ACC Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Georgia Tech is participating in the first<strong>&nbsp;ACC Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival&nbsp;</strong>in Washington, DC on Oct. 13 - 15, 2017. The festival, a gathering of all institutions included in the Atlantic Coast Conference, will celebrate creativity and innovation with a specific focus on science, engineering, arts, and design, and will be held at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.</p>

<p>Georgia Tech is seeking up to five completed innovative trans-disciplinary projects that embody the excellence and innovation to be showcased at the festival.</p>

<p>&quot;We are encouraging faculty, staff, and students to submit engaging and compelling projects that demonstrate research and/or teaching impacts, and have the potential to attract visitors. Projects with a specific focus on science, engineering, arts, and design could include cutting edge technologies, innovative businesses or ideas, social innovation projects, interactive installations, or performances,&quot; Madison Cario, Director of Georgia Tech&#39;s Office of the Arts explains.</p>

<p>The deadline for project consideration is Jan. 30, 2017.&nbsp;</p>
