Once you leave, the services provided by the Office of Information Technology change, but not everything goes away. You will always be a Yellow Jacket, but you\u0026rsquo;ll be a former student when you have not registered for two consecutive terms. After that time, some online resources will no longer be available to you, and work that is stored on Tech servers could be lost to you unless you take action to retrieve it.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHere is an overview of what you lose, what you keep, and what your alumni status may provide after graduation.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat You Keep\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EYour Georgia Tech account will always remain active so you can access certain systems, and even when you are no longer a student, your password will not expire. Here are some resources that will be available to you for life:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/passport.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EPassport (the Personal Account Self Service Portal)\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E: This site allows you to manage your Georgia Tech account, control your email alias (which provides email forwarding for life, or EMFL\u0026nbsp;\u0026mdash;\u0026nbsp;more on that below), manage your hints, and change your password if needed.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/buzzport.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EBuzzPort\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E: Through BuzzPort, former students are able to maintain access to the student information system (OSCAR)\u0026nbsp;to obtain transcripts or other services.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/tsquare.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ET-Square\u003C\/a\u003E:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Former students continue to have partial access to Tech\u0026rsquo;s course management and collaboration system, T-Square.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat You Lose\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EYou will be notified via email before losing access to services such as:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/lawn.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ELAWN (wireless network)\u003C\/a\u003E:\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003EThe wireless network is unavailable to former students. For more information about LAWN, visit\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.lawn.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003Elawn.gatech.edu\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.prism.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EPrism\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;(2 GB cloud storage on Georgia Tech servers):\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;If you have stored files on Prism, including any Prism public websites you\u0026rsquo;ve created, be sure to relocate any work you want to keep.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/faq.oit.gatech.edu\/messaging\u0022\u003EOffice 365\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;(Email, OneDrive storage, and Office 365 Pro Plus)\u003C\/strong\u003E:\u0026nbsp;Office 365, which includes your email and file storage as well as provides you with five activations of Office, will expire once you become a former student.\u0026nbsp;You will no longer be able to log in to mail.gatech.edu or office365.gatech.edu. \u0026nbsp;Any email or files you wish to keep should be saved or downloaded to your own resources before your access expires, and you may wish to set up Email Forwarding for Life as described below.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat You Can Get\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAfter leaving Tech, you will be able to access some services and resources only for a limited time or, in some cases, for a fee. These include:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/faq.oit.gatech.edu\/content\/what-e-mail-forwarding-life\u0022\u003EEmail Forwarding for Life\u003C\/a\u003E:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003EFormer students who are in good standing with the Institute have the option of receiving Email Forwarding for Life (EMFL). EMFL does not provide you with a mailbox within the Georgia Tech email system, but it does allow you to keep your Georgia Tech email alias (the @gatech.edu address), which will then forward messages on to any other valid email address. Read more on how to set this up\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/faq.oit.gatech.edu\/content\/what-e-mail-forwarding-life\u0022\u003Ehere\u003C\/a\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\tEven if you already have been forwarding your email using your Georgia Tech alias, log in to\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/passport.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EPassport\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and make sure your Georgia Tech mailbox address (the @mail.gatech.edu address) is removed from your alias delivery.
