  <title><![CDATA[One World is Not Enough]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>On Thursday, December 1, the Writing and Communication Program hosted <a href="http://wcprogram.lmc.gatech.edu/people/person/ca230a3c-e53d-5baa-8982-ddbab631a0bd">Dr. Caroline Young&rsquo;s</a> Serve-Learn-Sustain English 1102 class as they presented the culmination of this<br />
semester&rsquo;s work in a book release reception and art opening entitled, &ldquo;One World is Not Enough.&rdquo;&nbsp; The student-generated children&rsquo;s books and art installations explore themes of social, environmental, and economic sustainability at the local and global level, spotlighting the role of narrative as a powerful communication tool.<br />
The book-making project was a collaborative effort between Dr. Young&rsquo;s students, Toomer Elementary School, Toomer teachers Jessica Martinez and Ariel Tyler, Atlanta sculptor<br />
Ruth Stanford, Georgia Tech&rsquo;s Serve Learn Sustain initiative and a GT Fire Grant, storyteller Bill Taft, Price Gilbert Librarian Alison Valk, book designer Ashley Schick, and children&rsquo;s book illustrator, Mike Lowery.</p>
