What are the latest tools geoscientists use to study paleoclimate? What are their ambiguities and limitations? What lessons can citizens and policymakers take from specific episodes in the geologic past? What debates are going on about those lessons?

Hosted by the Atlanta Geological Society, Kim Cobb, professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences in the College of Sciences at Georgia Tech, will answer these questions. She uses corals and cave stalagmites to reconstruct tropical Pacific temperature and rainfall patterns over the past decades and millennia.
