{"583269":{"#nid":"583269","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Five Ivan Allen College Freshmen Receive Dean\u2019s Scholarships","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EEach year, the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts awards Dean\u0026rsquo;s Scholarships in recognition of incoming freshmen with a high school record of academic excellence, visionary leadership, and outstanding public service. The application for Dean\u0026#39;s Scholarships is a competitive, merit-based process. Scholarships are awarded in the\u0026nbsp;spring to high school students who enroll for fall semester in majors within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EUp to six scholarship recipients\u0026nbsp;receive a $2,000 award their first year, with the opportunity to continue the scholarship, based upon merit, for three subsequent years. The scholarships are in addition to the Hope Scholarship in-state students receive.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to the financial award, Dean\u0026rsquo;s Scholars meet personally with the Dean, the Associate Dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, as well as Georgia Tech executive administrators and faculty.
