The organization is looking for a dedicated student who cares about inequality, its relationship to election finance, and is interested in building a chapter and movement on campus to grow awareness of these issues and how they relate to college students. The program gives student interns grassroots organizing training and mentorship by our professional field staff. The internship is ideal for a rising sophomore or junior who is interested in politics, social change, economic justice, and/or political reform.

Student interns organize and start a Democracy Matters chapter to educate and involve students in advocating for justice and reform of the US and local campaign financing system. The organizations goal is to get big money out of politics and to advocate for public financing of elections.
