  <title><![CDATA[The Week Ahead: Oct. 17 – 23]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Fall Break may have passed, but that doesn&rsquo;t mean all the fun has gone with it.</p>

<p>From photography classes to food festivals, here are a few ways to enjoy something different each day.</p>

<h4>Monday</h4>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fangs-in-focus-digital-photography-for-beginners-tickets-28270671339?ref=ebtnebregn">Fangs in Focus: Digital Photography for Beginners</a></strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>When: 1 &ndash; 2 a.m.</li>
	<li>Where: Homer Rice Center, Library</li>
</ul>

<p>Learn the ins and outs of the Library&rsquo;s modern Digital Single Lens Reflex camera. This late-night &ldquo;vampire&rdquo; course will provide a brief introduction to the science of manual photography, covering the skills of composition, exposure, and selective focus. Learn how to produce quality photos for class projects, campus organizations, or family and friends.</p>

<h4>Tuesday</h4>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/1693520977634621/">German Day 2016</a></strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>When: 11 a.m. &ndash; 5 p.m.</li>
	<li>Where: Student Success Center and Tech Walk</li>
</ul>

<p>The School of Modern Languages will host German-themed activities throughout the day.</p>

<p>From 11 a.m. &ndash; 1 p.m., stop by Tech Walk to speak with students in the German Program and enjoy authentic German cuisine.</p>

<p>From 2 &ndash; 4 p.m., the Student Success Center will host a German career fair. Meet representatives from some of Germany&rsquo;s top companies.</p>

<p>From 4 &ndash; 5 p.m., attend a lecture at the Clary Theatre on &ldquo;A Global Education with a Career Path Vision.&rdquo; Representatives from German industry and past participants in German Day will speak on the importance of a global education.</p>

<h4>Wednesday</h4>

<p><strong>Early Voting</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>When: 8:30 a.m. &ndash; 4 p.m.</li>
	<li>Where: Poole Room, Wardlaw Center</li>
</ul>

<h4>Thursday</h4>

	<li>Where: Biotechnology Quad</li>
</ul>

<p>Enjoy traditional Asian cuisines, entertainment, games, and prizes. Admission, food, and drinks are free with BuzzCard.</p>

<h4>Friday</h4>

<p><strong><a href="http://enrichment.gatech.edu/project-one">&lsquo;Fast, Cheap, &amp;&nbsp;Out of Control&rsquo;: A Project One Screening</a></strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>When: 7:30 &ndash; 9:30 p.m.</li>
	<li>Where: Student Center Theater</li>
</ul>

<p>The third film in the Project One series on &ldquo;Resilience&rdquo; will be shown on Friday, Oct. 21. Errol Morris&rsquo;s innovative documentary<em>, Fast, Cheap &amp; Out of Control,</em>&nbsp;explores what it means to be resilient. After the showing, there will be a panel discussion among researchers from Georgia Tech and other universities.</p>

<p>Project One is a campuswide initiative to connect first-year students to faculty, mentors, and organizations for a shared learning experience. The program encourages students to express their individuality, creativity, and ambitions for the future by developing multimedia projects while exploring topics central to the Georgia Tech community.</p>

<h4>Saturday</h4>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/TEAMBuzzGT/">TEAM Buzz 2016</a></strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>When: 9 a.m. &ndash; 2 p.m.</li>
	<li>Where: Various locations &nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<p>TEAM Buzz is Georgia Tech&rsquo;s largest community service event of the year and a kickoff to Homecoming week. Choose from more than 30 service projects that include work at animal shelters, landscaping, library organizations, and more. Breakfast and a T-shirt will be provided and Homecoming points will be awarded to an organization of the student&rsquo;s choice. &nbsp;</p>

<h4>Sunday</h4>

<p><strong><a href="http://www.tasteofatlanta.com/index.php">Taste of Atlanta</a></strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>When: Oct. 21-23</li>
	<li>Where: Tech Square</li>
</ul>

<p>More than 90 restaurants will fill Tech Square, offering two or three sample-size food items from their menus. There will also be professional chef presentations and hands-on cooking demonstrations. The event will be held from noon &ndash; 7 p.m. on Sunday. Single-day general admission tickets cost $25 and can be purchased&nbsp;<a href="http://www.tasteofatlanta.com/tickets.php#person">here</a>.</p>
