Free HIV Testing

Health Promotion will offer free HIV testing on Tuesday, March 14 from 10am-2pm at the Student Center in the Piedmont Room. The free testing, provided by AIDS Healthcare Foundation, is available to all Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff at no charge. Testing will be performed using the INSTI test and results will be given immediately. Health Educators will be present to make sexual health information and safer sex supplies available.

This event is a part of the G.Y.P. (Get Yourself Protected) campaign being implemented by Health Promotion. The goal of G.Y.P. is to empower Georgia Tech students to make healthy decisions regarding protection if they choose to be sexually active. HIV testing is available to eligible students at Stamps Health Services at a low cost on an ongoing basis.

Many sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, can be asymptomatic (which means a person could have a STI and not know it). One in eight (12.8%) of those people living with HIV in the United States are unaware of their infection (CDC, 2015). The only way to be sure someone don’t have HIV is to be tested.

Health Promotion is proud to partner with AIDS Healthcare Foundation to provide this service to the Georgia Tech community.
