  <title><![CDATA[Predicting an equipment's life span can drastically lower maintenance costs]]></title>

</p><p><em>RF Design</em> - October 22, 2008<br />Based upon research at the GEORGIA TECH , predicting wear and degradation will enable predicting the remaining useful life of mechanical and electronic equipment. This could make huge contributions to enhancing reliability and lowering maintenance and spare parts costs.  Nagi Gebraeel, an assistant professor at GEORGIA TECH, has developed models that use data from real-time sensor measurements to calculate and continuously revise remaining useful life of various systems and components based on their current condition. <br /><a href="http://rfdesign.com/military_defense_electronics/news/lead-story/lower_maintenance_costs_1022/">http://rfdesign.com/military_defense_electronics/news/lead-story/lower_maintenance_costs_1022/</a></p>]]></body>
