The Henry G. Houghton Award is given annually to young promising atmospheric scientists who have shown outstanding ability in their fields.

Henry G. Houghton was a renowned researcher in atmospheric physics, and the award commemorates his accomplishments in the field of atmospheric physics.

The American Meteorological Society, founded in 1919, is the main professional society promoting the development of atmospheric and oceanic sciences.

Dr. Nenes holds a joint appointment in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Current projects in his research group include:
