Nerem International Travel Award was established by Bob Nerem\u0027s colleagues and friends, and it is given annually.  The inaugural award was given in 2005.  Its purpose is to encourage predoctoral and postdoctoral students to travel outside of the U.S. as part of their research training, with a preference being for a student to learn new laboratory techniques at a foreign university outside of North America or be part of an international collaboration.  To date, this award has allowed winners an opportunity to travel to the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, RIKEN Brain Science Institute, Japan, the National University of Singapore, the University of Twente, The Netherlands, and Weizmann Inst of Sci, Rehovot, Israel as part of their research collaboration. \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EApplication Deadline: April 29, 2010\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nPlease submit completed application packet electronically to: Mr. James Godard \u003Ca href=\u0022mailto:james.godard@ibb.gatech.edu\u0022\u003Ejames.godard@ibb.gatech.edu\u003C\/a\u003E before noon on April 29, 2010.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis year\u0027s award consists of up to $3,000 to support travel and living expenses.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EEach complete application must include:\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-Summary of work accomplished\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-Summary of future work\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-Statement of how this award would further his\/her research\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-A proposed budget including tentative dates\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-**Applicant\u0027s CV\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-**Letter of recommendation from the applicant\u0027s research advisor\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-**Letter from the researcher who will host the student\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n-Formatted in Times Roman font with 1\u0022 Margins\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ENote: Application not to exceed 5 pages.
