Sprigle","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cem\u003EBiosketch\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EStephen Sprigle is professor in Applied Physiology and Industrial Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology and\u0026nbsp;lab director of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Applied Research (REAR) Lab which undertakes applied research and development targeting the increased health and function of persons with disabilities. Specific areas of interest include: wheeled mobility and seating, pressure ulcer prevention and treatment; design of diagnostic tissue interrogation devices; and design of assistive technologies. As both a biomedical engineer and physical therapist, Sprigle\u2019s interests bridge the biomechanics of wheelchair seating, standardized wheelchair cushion and support surface testing and assistive technology design as well as posture and pressure ulcer prevention.
