  <title><![CDATA[Project Based Inquiry Learning (PBIL) Course]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Any educator in the Griffin‐Spalding School District who is interested in inquiry based learning is invited to enroll in the Project Based Inquiry Learning course from <strong>June 1-30, 2016</strong><strong>.</strong> Educators can work in cohort groups at your school to complete the coursework. We will have a &nbsp;one day optional face-to-face workshop on <strong>Tuesday, June 7, 2016</strong>. If you participate in the workshop, coursework will take approximately five hours a week during the month of June. (*<em>if there is a conflict with this date, you will have the option to complete the course entirely </em>online)</p><p>This <strong>30 hour facilitated online course </strong>will support teachers in using project-&shy;based inquiry learning (PBIL), to enhance conceptual understanding, critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem solving. The course will cover several important topics in PBIL, including: standards-&shy;‐based design, formative and summative assessment, and development of science process skills along with science content knowledge. Participants will 1) complete a PBIL first-&shy;‐hand; 2) analyze PBIL curriculum and resources to develop design acumen; and 3) begin designing a PBIL unit for their classroom.</p><p>Course registration is available until May 25, 2016 at&nbsp;<a href="https://pe.gatech.edu/courses/discovering-project-based-inquiry-learning">https://pe.gatech.edu/courses/discovering-project-based-inquiry-learning</a>. &nbsp;The course is free for Griffin-Spalding School educators.
