{"536421":{"#nid":"536421","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Project Based Inquiry Learning (PBIL) Course","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EAny educator in the Griffin\u2010Spalding School District who is interested in inquiry based learning is invited to enroll in the Project Based Inquiry Learning course from \u003Cstrong\u003EJune 1-30, 2016\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E.\u003C\/strong\u003E Educators can work in cohort groups at your school to complete the coursework. We will have a \u0026nbsp;one day optional face-to-face workshop on \u003Cstrong\u003ETuesday, June 7, 2016\u003C\/strong\u003E. If you participate in the workshop, coursework will take approximately five hours a week during the month of June. (*\u003Cem\u003Eif there is a conflict with this date, you will have the option to complete the course entirely \u003C\/em\u003Eonline)\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis \u003Cstrong\u003E30 hour facilitated online course \u003C\/strong\u003Ewill support teachers in using project-\u0026shy;based inquiry learning (PBIL), to enhance conceptual understanding, critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem solving. The course will cover several important topics in PBIL, including: standards-\u0026shy;\u2010based design, formative and summative assessment, and development of science process skills along with science content knowledge.
