Topics covered include:\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E- defining and assigning variables\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E- printing things to the screen\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E- defining and using functions\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E- using functions that other people have written\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis class assumes that you have some familiarity with another programming language and are familiar with terms like \u0022variable\u0022 and \u0022function\u0022.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ENote:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003Eo This is a hands-on class, and is heavily example-based. Every concept introduced will be driven by examples that are executed. So, students are encouraged to bring laptops with them.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003Eo This class assumes some basic familiarity with programming concepts. Students should know the terms \u0022variable\u0022, \u0022function\u0022, \u0022call a function\u0022, \u0022argument\u0022, \u0022string\u0022, and \u0022integer\u0022 before coming to class.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003Eo This class will use the Canopy environment from Enthought for all examples.
