{"51647":{"#nid":"51647","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Nain Wins Best Student Paper Award At MICCAI","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E(October 16, 2006)--\u003C\/strong\u003ECollege of Computing Ph.D. student Delphine Nain won the student award for best paper in the category \u0022Segmentation and registration\u0022 at the International conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI).\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EMICCAI is the premier international conference with in-depth full length papers in the multidisciplinary fields of medical image computing, computer-assisted intervention and medical robotics. This year, 578 scientific papers were submitted from which 39 papers were selected for the oral program and 193 papers for the poster program. Nain is among the five student prizes, each awarded in a different category for the best paper with a student first author.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ENain\u2019s paper, also selected for the oral program, is titled \u0022Shape-driven surface segmentation using spherical wavelets\u0022 and included co-authors Steven Haker, Aaron Bobick and Allen Tannenbaum.
