Guest speakers include:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. Geoffrey Baym: \u003C\/strong\u003EAuthor of \u0022From Cronkite to Colbert: The Evolution of Broadcast News,\u0022\u003Cem\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/em\u003EDr. Baym is a professor and Chair of the Department of Media Studies and Production at Temple University. A former television news producer, his scholarship explores the shifting styles and standards of broadcast journalism, public affairs media, and political discourse.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. Amber Day: \u003C\/strong\u003EAuthor of \u201cSatire and Dissent: Interventions in Contemporary Political Debate,\u201d Dr. Day is an associate professor in the English and Cultural Studies Department at Bryant University. Her research focuses broadly on the intersections of popular culture and political speech, including ironic and satiric communication, political performance and activism, and public debate.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. Jeffrey Jones:\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003EAuthor of \u201cEntertaining Politics: Satiric Television and Civic Engagement,\u201d Dr. Jones is Lambdin Kay Professor and Director of the Peabody Awards at The University of Georgia.
