  <body><![CDATA[<p>What:&nbsp;Panel Discussion about Technical Communication in the Workplace</p><p>When:&nbsp;March 8 from 3:00 - 4:30pm</p><p>Where:&nbsp;Hall Building, Room 102</p><p>Who:&nbsp;Brian Larson (LMC); Arn Rubinoff (Business); and Robert Waters (CS)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This panel addresses ways technical communication occurs in a variety of workplace settings: computer science, business, and law. Our three panelists will identify their experiences communicating with different audiences and answer the following questions:</p><p>1. What does “technical communication” mean in computer science, business, and law? <br />2. What types of written, oral, visual, electronic, and nonverbal communication modes are used in these workplace settings? <br />3. What sort of issues/problems arise in communication in the execution of the panelists’ jobs? <br />4. What are some of the issues about which technical communication practitioners need to be mindful? <br />The panelists and the audience will converse about differences and similarities occurring within the three professional settings.&nbsp;<br /></p>]]></body>
