China will build an entire city the size of Metropolitan Atlanta  from the ground up – every year for the next 20 years!  The scale, speed and impact of this is unprecedented in history.  For this effort to be sustainable, new conceptual models of urban planning as well as new technologies in design, financing and construction management of major infrastructure projects have to be developed and tested in a very short time. Join us for a view from the front lines of this amazing real-world challenge.

The Eco Urban Lab of Georgia Tech and Tongji University, Disney Research China, Applied Energy Institute and Covestro are collaboratingon a joint studio project of a near zero urban system in Shanghai, an international initiative to incorporate eco urban design, integrated infrastructure, future energy systems and smart materials.

Hosted by the Eco Urban Lab, School of City and Regional Planning, School of Building Construction, and School of Architecture
