Part I provides a framework for understanding supply chain management and some of its most important related components. Strategic factors are the focus of Part II, while Part III addresses the key process areas within supply chain management. Part IV draws the reader into the world of supply chain planning, sourcing, and operations. The final section, Part V, explores the major macro trends that will impact the future of logistics and supply chain management, as well as strategies for staying competitive in the future. Each chapter opens with a supply chain profile that offers the reader a glimpse of real-world companies, people, and events that will make the world of supply chain management come alive. Practical information on the application of supply chain management is also explored with examples of hands-on managerial experience that relate to the content of each of the sixteen chapters.

This textbook is required for the Logistics Management module in the Certified in Transportation and Logistics professional certification program offered by the American Society for Transportation Logistics.
