Additionally, Goodman is seeking to establish a program of study in critical infrastructure programs at Georgia Tech within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe first was the inaugural \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/cps-vo.org\/group\/NWRR2015\u0022\u003ENational Workshop on Resilience Research for Critical Infrastructure\u003C\/a\u003E held at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Georgia Tech was awarded one of the first grants under the new NSF program on Critical Resilient Interdependent Infrastructure Systems and Processes (CRISP), and Goodman is one of three principal investigators on the grant with \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.ce.gatech.edu\/people\/faculty\/6422\/overview\u0022\u003EIris Tien\u003C\/a\u003E in Civil and Environmental Engineering and \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.scs.gatech.edu\/people\/calton-pu\u0022\u003ECalton Pu\u003C\/a\u003E in Computer Science\u003Cstrong\u003E. \u003C\/strong\u003EThe workshop spanned systems resilience from both natural occurrences and malicious cyber exploits.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe second workshop was held at the George Washington University for the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.thei3p.org\/\u0022\u003EInstitute for Information Infrastructure Protection\u003C\/a\u003E (I3P), a consortium of 26 universities, national labs, and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers\u0026nbsp;(FFRDCs) dedicated to strengthening the nation\u2019s cyber infrastructure. I3P was formed on recommendation by the President\u2019s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) and was initially funded with a congressional appropriation in 2002. Georgia Tech was a charter PCAST member, and Goodman has been the Institute\u2019s principal representative since its inception.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGoodman hopes to build a program in the College\u2019s Nunn School that includes the study of critical infrastructures and their protection.
