{"474741":{"#nid":"474741","#data":{"type":"event","title":"IMPACT Presents: Carlos Amesquita, Chief Information Officer, The Hershey Company","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EAlumnus Carlos Am\u00e9squita is the Chief Information Officer for The Hershey Company.\u0026nbsp; He joined Hershey in August 2014 after a distinguished 28 year career with Procter \u0026amp; Gamble, where he held several IT and Shared Services leadership positions.\u0026nbsp; His last assignment was leading Global Business Services and Information Technology for P\u0026amp;G North America.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECarlos has extensive international experience across developing and developed markets, having lived in three countries and travelled extensively\u0026nbsp;to 5 continents.\u0026nbsp; His assignments spanned across technologies and processes in the areas of finance, marketing, sales, supply chain and HR.\u0026nbsp; Carlos led major ERP initiatives and go-to-market IT programs, as well as big data and analytics programs with retailers. He created and led a new Innovation and Incubation organization, led a multi-billion dollar outsourcing deal, and developed strategic suppliers to move from contract work to managed services.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECarlos earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Per\u00fa and a Master of Science in Management (MBA) from The Georgia Institute of Technology. \u0026nbsp;Carlos is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECarlos and his wife, Jackie, live in Cincinnati.\u0026nbsp; He spends his free time with his children and likes to play tennis and swim.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECarlos serves in the Board of Directors of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) since 2011, and has been a member of the HITEC organization since 2008.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMr. Amesquita will speak at Georgia Tech\u0027s\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/scheller.gatech.edu\/centers-initiatives\/ile\/impact\/index.html\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EIMPACT Speaker Series\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAbout the Impact Speaker Series:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESince 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from \u0022building a venture around intellectual capital\u0022 to \u0022successful entrepreneurship in large organizations\u0022 and \u0022socially responsible leadership\u0022.
