Researchers and industry architects\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Eutilize simulation to evaluate their designs and gain a certain level of\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Econfidence before manufacturing the actual products. Due to the fact\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Ethat modern multi-core systems are complex, traditional sequential\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Esimulation can hit the bottlenecks in terms of execution time. To handle\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Ethe complexity, Parallel Discrete Event Simulation (PDES) programs are\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Eemployed. PDES program with well-designed partitioning schemes,\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Esynchronization algorithm and other optimizations can take advantage of\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Ethe parallel hardware and achieve scalability for the simulation of\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Emulti-core systems.\u0026nbsp;The objective of this dissertation is to design, develop, test and\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Eevaluate a variety of technologies to improve the performance and\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003Eefficiency of parallel simulation of multi-core systems.
