Atlanta\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Cem\u003E: Changing the Game\u003C\/em\u003E,\u201d a new exhibit at the Bobby Jones Golf Course Clubhouse that opened on Nov. 7, commemorates the 60th\u0026nbsp;anniversary of that decision and its enduring impact on desegregation rulings in Atlanta, the South, and the United States.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EHolmes v. Atlanta: Changing the Game\u003C\/em\u003E was researched and curated\u0026nbsp;in partnership with the Sports, Society, and Technology program and the School of History and Sociology. The Ivan Allen College faculty and students behind the exhibit include\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.iac.gatech.edu\/people\/faculty\/mcdonald\u0022\u003EMary McDonald\u003C\/a\u003E, the Homer Rice Chair in Sports and Society; Jennifer Sterling, a postdoctoral fellow working with the Sports, Society, and Technology program; Renee Shelby, a Ph.D. student in History and Sociology of Technology and Science; and History and Sociology students Anna Arnau, Ericka Brundage, and Hayden Gregg.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe exhibit retells the story behind the ruling and reflects upon its broader impact through images, public documents, and data visualizations. \u003Cem\u003EHolmes v. Atlanta\u003C\/em\u003E followed the Supreme Court\u2019s landmark ruling in \u003Cem\u003EBrown v. Board of Education,\u003C\/em\u003E which struck down the legality of \u201cseparate but equal\u201d state education laws, and the decision was among the first cases to extend this precedent beyond education into other public accommodations.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EHolmes v.
