Students meet for a weekly recovery seminar, participate in service projects and sober social activities, and often attend the on-campus AA meeting at the Catholic Center on Thursday nights. The sense of community created by the program helps students develop meaningful relationships and hold themselves and each other accountable for working their recovery programs. A current member of the program says "The Georgia Tech Campus Recovery Program has helped me feel that the GT campus is truly my home. Every time I meet at the CRP the stress from my day melts away and I am surrounded by friends and staff who have become my closest confidants. Georgia Tech had always been a great experience for me, but the CRP has made it even better."

This program is in place to respond to the growing need for recovery support among our students. According to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, almost one in four college students meets the medical criteria for a substance use disorder. At best, 50% of these students will remain sober six months after seeking help. However, involvement in Collegiate Recovery Programs leads to greater success in recovery and greater academic success.

The Georgia Tech Collegiate Recovery Program is here to make sure that no student has to choose between recovery and a degree from Georgia Tech.
