It was started as a project that was intended to allow a design student to experience the whole product development cycle, not just the part that designers usually do. When Make10 started, just 6 years ago, students were making things out of wood, and using processes like sewing and vacuum forming. Now In 6 short years the world of manufacturing has changed so quickly that we can do Make10 MicroFactory. Using digital tools like 3D printers and laser cutters, making ten is just a test for making thousands!

]]> Make10 Digital Factory grew out of a simple idea. Every spring for the past 6 years the Industrial Design School has held an event called Make10. The rules - design something, make ten of them, and sell them at a special spring Make10 Event. Make10 has been so successful, that we have now developed Make10 MicroFactory. Every fall senior Industrial Design students will develop product ideas that can be made and sold digitally, and showcased at Maker Faire. Visit Maker Faire and judge for yourself, these are some pretty amazing products that you can buy!
