The student group is hosting three fall break trips to Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina, South Cumberland State Park in Tennessee, and Cumberland Island National Seashore in Georgia. The trips include a mix of environmental service and outdoor activities such as backpacking and whitewater rafting. For the service component, students will assist with re-treading and restoring trails.

“Our trips are an extremely enjoyable way to give back to the environment and to the community,” said Matthew Kaune, alternative breaks coordinator for Trailblazers. The group's mission is to increase appreciation for the outdoors through trail adventure and exploration.

The fall break trips are open to all experience levels, so beginners, experts, and anyone in between can explore the outdoors and enjoy a few days away from campus. Each group consists of about 10 to 15 students.  

The cost of each trip ranges from $85 to $125 depending on the trip and whether students want to pay for a one-semester or yearlong membership with Trailblazers. In addition to membership, the registration fee includes all food, transportation, recreation, lodging, and a T-shirt.
