The AAAS is the world\u0027s largest general scientific society and becoming a Fellow is an honor bestowed upon members by their peers. Fellows are recognized for meritorious efforts to advance science or its applications.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EProf. Menon\u0027s citation reads: \u0022for distinguished and innovative contributions to the field of multi-scale computational simulation and modeling of turbulent combustion in power and propulsion systems.\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.ae.gatech.edu\/community\/staff\/bio\/menon-s\u0022\u003EProf. Menon\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;earned his BS and MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a world-renowned expert in large-eddy simulation of turbulent reacting and non-reacting flows, and has developed unique simulation capabilities to investigate these processes in propulsion systems such as gas turbines, ramjet, scramjet and rocket engines.
