Ellis, \u002770 has been elected to the prestigious organization, joining more than 2000 members and 211 foreign associates worldwide. Ellis and his fellow nominees will be officially honored in October, when the NAE convenes its annual meeting in Washington, D.C.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003EEllis is the president and chief executive officer for the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.inpo.info\/\u0022\u003EInstitute of Nuclear Power Operations\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;in Atlanta, GA, and serves on the board of directors of Lockheed Martin.\u0026nbsp; He is a retired four-star admiral and former commander, United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.\u0026nbsp; Ellis was recognized by the NAE \u0022for leadership in advancing safe nuclear power plant operations throughout the world.\u0022\u0026nbsp; Ellis holds a Master\u0027s degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003ECivil Engineering alumnus John R. Huff, \u002768 was also elected to the NAE.\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0022We are delighted that the National Academy of Engineering has recognized two Georgia Tech graduates for their oustanding contributions to engineering and as leaders in their fields,\u0022 said Gary May, dean of the College of Engineering.\u0026nbsp; \u0022The College of Engineering takes great pride in its alumni and their achievements following graduation from Tech.\u0022\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003EElection to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer, according to NAE president Charles M.
